If you like TCG's there's a new one called Fight Klub that's just launched.

It's heavily influenced by what the players want (as a Founding Mentor I've helped refine the rules, choose gang names and we've even had early character cards influenced by what we wanted, with more to come).

As the name suggests, it pits one character against another in a fight to see who comes out top. Different characters have different stats so there's opportunity for many different strategies of play.

Feel free to ask me more questions if you like or take a lok by going to Decipher's site. It's invitation only, so tell them Starblade sent you. There's a "what is Fight Klub" on the entry page, but to view the cards and read the forums you do need to create a login.

There are also a lot of semi-popular card games made by toy companies for their products, such as Lego. (I have some Knights' Kingdom, Bionicle, and Johnny Thunder ones.) These don't tend to be as good as the games made for themselves rather than for other products. I have a game that uses all these gaming cards, as well as baseball/football/other cards along with homemade cards. It takes longer to complete a battle and it sometimes lasts days, with many twists and turns, but it can also be as quick as the players set it up to be. The basic way to play is to collect a team of characters and enhancements, which then are divided into selected environments under changing circumstances. It's very challenging. A good player can win with bad cards, if the environment and circumstances are used effectively. You can lose cards for the rest of the battle, or in higher stakes games, to other players' winnings. Tournaments are more fun, because special rules make the game even more dynamic. I made several computer versions, which play faster, but none are good enough to share yet, though I'm planning on working on it some more later. It works better manually, because the cards used can be from so many other games, and you can sometimes use some of those game's strategies. I also have rules for including terrain maps, but they do not seem fun enough yet. I use dynamic multi-dimensional node maps in one computer version.

I used to be big into Pokemon, and was at one point the "go to" guy in school for rarer cards. I still have a binder full of 'em. I quit collecting around when the whole Pokemon thing died at school - at the end, I traded a couple of frosted donuts to a classmate for his entire collection. :-D

I like to play Magic. But I actually stopped about Tempest or so. LOL. I know it's been a while. I still have like prob, 15000 cards or so, but no one to play with. I never tried Pokemon or the others, I know I would like em' though. I actually taught my g/f to play Magic, just so I would have someone to play with, but she seems to have the attention span of a 4 year old, and doesn't understand or appreciate the severity of a Ball Lightning or a Mahamoti Djinn.

I also use to play Star Wars. Talk about an awesome game. I still have about 100 or those cards or so. Like my Luke Skywalker, and 2 versions of Yoda. Not sure if they are still valuable like they use to be. But back in the early 90's one of my Yoda's was worth over $200. It was was prob my fav. There were like different planets, and ships, and chars. Kinda like a table top galaxy.

I think a thing about card games or anything like that for me I get into it.. buy buy buy got some really good decks (magic the gathering) then someone break my car window to get my decks, or they got into a locker before and got them all.. so many nice cards gone to waste.. :( Then you lose interest cause you buy and these card people bust your car window over some cards to steal lol.

edit - theres many forums out there for selling, trading, and buying cards of anykind.. MANY years ago I was on a forum for magic and people list there cards in there little detail(siggy I call em) and you can talk to em about buying or trading for em.

I played Magic back in the Revised days. I got quickly uninterested with it when they started coming out with tons of expansions and revisions. Too much to try to keep up with, specially with all the rule changes.
