Kodo, Another for your list. Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts

"The Author was once Australia's most wanted man. Now he has written Australia's most wanted novel."

936 pages and I couldn't put it down. I believe it will be made into a film. The Author is writing a prequel that details his life, before being committed to 19 years imprisonment for carrying out a series of robberies. Read the flyleaves for the story of Shantaram. " Set up free medical clinic in Bombay, couterfeiter, smuggler, gunrunner, and street soldier for one .... of the branches of the Bombay mafia." I think you'll love it. Bazza

I'm not much of a book reader.. books generally can't keep my attention because in the background I hear.. "1's and 0's" eminating from my computers.. I'm a computer addict. So much more stimulation. Any way.. I do most of my reading online about technology and science etc.

soo.. have YOU read the book?

Lev, have you ever read H.P. Lovecraft? Bigbazza, if I can find the book at the library I'll check it out (sounds good).

He wrote a lot of short stories; I found all of it fascinating. He created a fictional ancient religion (the "Cthulhu" Mythos) which is found throughout his writings (some people believe it's a real religion, he was so convincing- ever heard of the "Necronomicon"?) Anyway, if you Google "h p lovecraft", you can read a sample (book results has "Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories"). If you like Gothic, check him out!

I hear that, Colemanguy- how did you like "Eaters of the Dead"? (The movie version- "The 13th Warrior" wasn't too bad, either).
