I just searched for Macrium Reflect. I didn't find very much. I'm a Macrium fan. I have been using it for a long time. I keep a back up image of my OS on two external USB's and also a image on my secondary drive. I made two rescue Linux CD's a Bart PE and a Windows PE. I can restore a image on my active drive or on a brand new HD in a hour or less. I have learned lots of tricks and like sharing them with members. If I can help, just ask.:wave

    Hi

There will be some comments on Macrium Reflect on the forum, I know I will have mentioned it at times as a viable free option for backup, but while I may test it for just getting to see what the app can do, I tend to use Acronis True Image or Easeus ToDo.

And just keep an eye out for threads where members are asking for help on Macrium Reflect and its options and then you can use your experience with this app to assist them.

Thanks for your reply David. I used Acronis a long time ago. It was good, but I found Macrium free when my 30 trial was up for Acronis. It does all I need and I know it works. I have restored My OS to a brand new HD after my old one died. It worked great. I also restored a image to my active drive. Pretty cool software and it's free.;);)

    HI

Good stuff and thats all I say in finding a great app, if it does what you want, easily and in a recovery app accurately then its a keeper. While others may not like this application, its all about whats good for you as the user, we all have our likes and dislikes and non are right or wrong.

I like helping friends and neighbors with their computers. I have a 1TB seagate external USB. The first thing I do on their PC is run a scan for malware with MBAM and SAS. Then I down load Macrium on their PC and create a back up image of their OS on my USB. Then I clean up their PC. Get rid of programs they don't use. Get rid of some start ups. Run CCleaner. Defrag their C drive. I also defrag the registry which probably don't help , but I haven't had it harm any thing either. I also defrag the page. I then create a new back up image of their OS and convince them to get a USB and make frequent back ups. I know Windows 7 has it's own back up, but I like my Macrium. I copy the back up image to their PC and tell them how to copy it to a USB after they buy one. After they get a USB, I delete their OS from my USB. I tell them to call if they have any questions.
PS Am I a nice guy or what??:)
