The PROS here feel that you should not use it yet. It has some false positives and has actually caused some problems, I believe with the internet.
You can do a search on here to see some of there comments.

Aside from the bugs that it currently has, it is a very good program. Once they get those kinks out, I'm sure it will be a must have tool.

    Bern,

Weren't you involved in a discussion about this when it first came out?

Nothing has changed yet. It's still has problems. But as Kodo implies there are good things about it too. You just cannot trust that everything it finds is really a problem. And in some cases it does break things. It has broken WinXP SP2 firewall a few times. Also as broken the ability to access the internet in some cases.

I really hope they work all the problems out soon! It would be an important step towards the fight against malware. Also I hope they improve the ability to fix problems. Too many programs report things but are not able to fix the problems.

It has its good points too! But remember it is a beta! That means we are all testing it for Microsoft.

I used it on myself a few times! And while it did find and fix a few valid things (all of which were trivial in my case and were ignore by other scanners), it had false positives in all cases.

Ive used it, i reckon its better just to stick with Spybot - Search and Destroy and Adaware :),

The lastest version has improved and fixes a few real baddies that others do not. So it may soon be added to our list of recommended tools again. In fact, it may cause removal of some others (maybe - or it may just cause them to be move to the Alternative Scans section).

I use it with spybot and Adaware and I quite like it. It does thow up some false posatives so I google everything before removing it but other than that it seems to be quite good. It has won me over because it was the easiest way I have found to remove the Bargain Buddy Adware. I picked this up twice now. Before I used MS AntiSpyware it took forever to remove because adaware and spybot didnt do it properly. MS took it off in one hit this time and it has yet to return!

Just remember that it is a beta and double check it's hits and it is a good program. (It does still show up as being Giant AntiSpyware, the company MS bought for it, on my firewall though) If they keep this up Microsoft are onto a winner here!

I believe SpySweeper always removed bargain buddy. It is a good program and does not have false positive problems like MS AS, but you do have to pay for it.
