AoA Audio Extractor Difficulties

I have tried to extract some music from the end credits of an avi file with AoA but it keeps telling me an error has occurred and then crashes. I am new to this and not sure how to go about it.

Any suggestions on how to do this or on any software which would do it easier?

This is a paid program with a 30 day trial that I've used to extract audio from scenes of a DVD movie I own.

Sorry to but in but I don't want to start a new thread unnecessarily. I've downloaded some poetry from YouTube that I want to use for language practise but the visuals are totally irrelevant and take up storage space unnecessarily.

I'm also looking for a program that can extract music from videos but I'm looking for something free - and without spyware. I came across FLV Extract and AVS Video Converter, which seems more versatile... Are they OK?

I have also downloaded one song with YouTube Downloader, which still seems to be in Flash format, unlike other clips I've downloaded: the current format unsuitable for my mp4 player. Any suggestion for a program to extract and convert that one to mp3 would be appreciated.
