AOL problem

I'm in need of an AOL uninstaller. I can remove AOL from Add/Remove programs, and it uninstalls just fine, but it's leaving some traces behind. When I go to reload AOL, it is automatically filling in the access numbers, user names, etc. In other words, it's using the settings from the previous (now uninstalled) version of AOL. I uninstalled and reinstalled because the user names and password weren't correct and I needed to reset them. But the new install is doing the exact same thing. So, does anybody have a link to a COMPLETE uninstaller for AOL???????????

Look in Application Data folders in Documents and settings. Look in Program Files, Common Files, do a search for aol from Start Menu, include hidden files and folders, make sure the files you delete are the correct ones by looking at the folder they are in, and leave in recycle bin until you are sure it hasn't caused any undesirable effects so you can restore them if needed.

 

Problem solved
Here's what I did:
Using Windows search, I enabled searching of hidden and system files and searched for anything with AOL or America Online in the name and deleted all results. Rebooted PC. Ran CCleaner and cleaned all the junk/temp files. Ran CCleaner's Issues tool; it found over 200 bad registry entries and 178 of those were AOL related; so I had CCleaner fix that stuff. Rebooted PC. Ran regedit and searched for AOL and America Online, just to be sure there was no lingering AO-hell stuff. Installed AOL9 from CD. Now everything is beee-ooooo-teeee-full!!!
Just thought I'd post the 'fix' in case someone else has the same problem someday.
