How good or bad do you think the package AOL offers is compared to other anti everthing packagages? I have been using Zone lab and other anti-malware products disscussed on this site and have had no major problems.

Personally I rank AOL very poorly, primarily because of the junk they pack into there installs. It's a resource hog, not to mention it loads multiple software applications in addition to protection. For example, when AOL is installed you get "Viewpoint Media Player" which is useless and unecessary. This is one of the things AOL installs which IMO degrages its' repuation. I have never personally used AOL but I have heard a lot of bad things about it.

Personally for protection I recommend AVG Antivirus, ZoneAlarm Firewall and Spy Sweeper. With those three programs, safe surfing, windows updates current and firefox for browser you should never be infected. I use those three and to this day have never had a problem. Just so you are aware Spy Sweeper is a subscription based program, it's $29.95 a year I think, ZoneAlarm and AVG are free but have versions you can purchase. In my opinion it is worth it, but that's up to you.
