I apologize for my recent request regarding Battlefield: Vietnam and how to download the torrent file. I can assure you that I was unaware I was stealing a file. I have stopped trying to download it. I came across it in a Youtube video and automatically assumed it was on the up and up. I have never and will never steal my games, etc., or anything else. Thank you for locking out the question MA.

If I had known it was wrong don't you think I have been on this site enough to know that this is the wrong place to ask about it? They don't call me Darth Meatloaf for nothing. All kidding aside, I don't steal and I apologize for opening a forum for someone to tell others or myself how to.

    Thanks again MA.

Thats something I find amusing about youtube, it would seem it's perfectly acceptable to put up instrutional videos of how to do ilegal things, yet they are always arguing over copyright lol

They are slowly tryna change the law to stop "torrent enablers" sites that link to torrents and also trackers obviously.

The problem is the the laws they are tryna introduce conflict with public domain laws,if something is in the public domain and is know by everybody such as a group of people sharing a file then they aren't committing a crime.

If a youtube user or anyone says "There are a group of people robbing a bank right now and here's where its happening." Its just putting the news in the public domain, only if someone joins the bank robbers is a crime committed.

Unless someone reports the video or the owner of the digital content makes a complaint it won't be removed,I've come across a lot of these so I don't think youtube has a policy to remove them, could be wrong though.

With regard to instructional videos that show illegal stuff I guess it all comes down to censorship of information,if you start censoring information or knowledge where does it stop?

You just need to put a message at the end "Don't try this at home its illegal.":-D "This is how bank robbers crack safes, just showing you how they do it but don't try it":-D

Ah well no harm no foul, as you are now well aware of the legalities of those sorts of actions.

What many forget is Majorgeeks is not a hobby site its a business and as such is bound by having to follow the law if wanting to continue business, a hobby site can come and go, Majorgeeks is here to stay!

So best practice is to before posting double check is what you are about to post borderline to legality issues, if it is then don't post, if its 50/50 then possible to PM one of the moderators/admins for advice.
