Is there an application that creates a list of saved files?
It would be nice if every time I saved a file, the filename and path would be stored in a file (likely a text file) so I can see what and when I saved something.

Turn on File History in Settings > Backup.

I don't want to backup my files because I do that regularly with another app.

I would first create a text file named (for example) "Saved Filenames.txt".

Then when I open and change something in another file and save that file, a line containing that file's filename and its path would be appended to "Saved Filenames.txt". If I do not save the file then nothing would be appended.

When I save still another file, the app should add that filename and path to the end of "Saved Filenames.txt".

Any ideas how I could to this?

    More info...

When I save a file, the app should open "Saved Filenames.txt", append the saved file's filename and path to the end of "Saved Filenames.txt" and then save and close "Saved Filenames.txt".

I did not suggest File History for backup purposes but because its output meets many of your requirements. I suspect you have dismissed it without even looking at the info it provides.

I've read thru File History a few times in the past and I didn't see anything that would be useful to me. I have a backup routine that I've been using successfully since PCs came out in the early 80s. But I thank you for your suggestion anyways. :)

    As usual, I'm overthinking again.

Using the application "Everything" I can get what I need.
