I had purchased an Apple iBook laptop for myself and then gave it to my daughter to take to school. The iBook has never had any connectivity issues until now. She cannot get the computer to connect to the school's network, which should be so very simple. The problem is that there is no selection of DHCP on the network connection on her computer, which is what is required, why? All other Apple computers have it, what has happened?

Here is the process she goes through:

    Starts up computer.
    Clicks on Apple logo.
    Clicks on System Preferences.
Clicks on Network under the Internet section.
Sets to Automatic and Built-in Ethernet.
    Clicks on TCP/IP tab.
    Clicks on configure.
All she gets is PPP (dial up) and Manual.

There should be two other options, DHCP and DHCP with manual entry. Does anyone have any idea why the computer is reacting this way? She has Mac OS X, version 10.1

    Thank you...
