Apple Mac

I know absolutely nothing about Apple computers. (I have a Sony Vaio and a Nexus 7 along with an LG G3 mobile phone)

I fancy rebelling and going "Mac" as folk either love them or hate them.

Can any Mac lovers suggest what I should look to buy please? I love sitting with my laptop on my knee and watching TV, doing banking writing letters etc so I want something more "computer like" preferably with a large memory and good battery life. Do they make small laptops like this or do I have to go for a normal size one?

Look forward to hearing some POSITIVE ideas

When daughter went to school we got her a MacBookPro. We went high end on everything and it was not cheap. Five years later she is still very happy with it. Only a few problems with OS updates. It does everything she wants and plays well with her iPhone. The Pro is your powerhouse.
One of our vendors has a Mac tower at his office and uses a MacBookAir, he is also very happy. The Air is your small laptop.
My advice when buying Mac is to not skimp. Macs tend to be expensive and long lived.

About 3 years ago, we got my daughter a MacBook Air (http://www.apple.com/macbook-air/). They are very light and portable and come in 11 or 13 inch. She ended up selling it a year later and going back to Windows (had to slide that in there ) but liked it while she had it. If you are looking for light with long battery, I'd suggest looking at it. It is not a power computer, but perfect for what you were talking about doing with it.
