I notice the Arcade has an excellent rendition of Asteriods, which got me thinking about other games I've missed.

Anyone remember Star Castle? The space ship flys around a fortress with several layers of force fields, blowing them away a piece at a time. Been decades since I've seen this game, but I loved it.

There was another, I don't remember it's name, two spaceships flying around a sun (or black hole) fighting it out. Great 2 player game.

Both of the above games had a space ship similar to asteriods, same controls and feel. Anybody see them around?

Space Invaders is still doing strong as far as I can tell. Accurate recreations abound.

I was also a fan of Battle Zone, which has spawned a lot of imitations, but not too many recreations. As I understand it the US Army bought a lot of them and put them in with the guys because the simulation was pretty decent.

    Crazy Climber...
Galiga I don't miss because its out there.
    Pheonix, ditto.

    What else?

I miss pinball. Yeah, I know, it's still around, but arcades normally only have one or two of them and there's always some old dude playing on it on the once or twice a year I take my kids into an arcade.

I was playing one of the ones on MG (just not the same) and my 8 yr old comes over, looks, and says very enthusiasically "I love ping pong!" LOL I just looked at her and shook my head.

I know this may sound stupid but I miss Dig Dug and Burgertime.

    Dig Dug and Burgertime?

Get a C64 emulator, the C64 version of the games was pretty flawless.

    I'd recommend VICE.

I was fond of a game called 'Alien Hominid' MG had on the original arcade. (Before the first switch)

It was a simple side-scroller, you were this little alien being pursued by the FBI.

But it was hilariously violent. There was a million ways you could kill the FBI, including biting off their heads.
