are there any good sniper games out there?

as the titles states. im wondering if there are any really good sniper games. doesnt have to be entirly about sniping but im looking for a game that has really good sniper moments and lots of them. one game i play was elite sniper. and i found it pretty good. wuld love to find more games like it. another game that comes to mind is cod4. not really a sniper game, but the sniping in it and the sniper mission was awesome in my opinion. if you know of any sniper games good or bad, old or new. please tell me.

 

i play Star Wars Battlefront 2 online and ... pretty much yeah, its great for sniping
also halo 3 on xbox live, etc . .... nearly every first person shooter has a sniper rifle lol just pick one .

 

Sniper Elite was a good game, with snipers hunting you, while you are hunting your targets.
And there is a sequel, Sniper Elite 2

(or is that the game you said you played? (elite sniper))

There is one called Marine Sniper, I believe.

 

yeah. sniper elite is what i meant to say. ive played 1 and 2.
also starwars battle front i havent played but will deffinatly try it out, and i personly hate halo 3.
i guess im looking for more of a military style sniping games.

 

Although not exactly a sniper game C&C Renegade is well worth a look.

 

Silent Scope I and II- an old sniper game. Great in the arcades, you may need an emulator to play this though, providing you own a license to use the rom...

 

A lot of FPS' nowadays have sniping guns or elements in their levels. I can't really think of sniping specific games or levels.

As mentioned before though, Silent Scope is a classic.

 

Unreal tournament 2004 and UT3 both have snipers rifles and on line play can be a bit military like on the right servers... a lot of hide and hope for the noob to let you get the head shot :-D but theres a lot more to it then just snipers

Battlefield 2 has some good sniping in it, so does Team Fortress 2 you may want to give them a try.

Star wars Battlefront is alright for people who like to just charge in and rip the enemy to pieces, but isn't that good for sniping. The AI likes to run around a lot in jerking motions, making it VERY difficult to get the shot off. The elite sniper rifle has a glitch (at least on my machine) where you can't get headshots, only shots to the pelvis will kill. Also, there is no bullet drop, taking all the skill out of it. It's just point & shoot.

WarRock, a free downloadable multiplayer games with some pay features has some EXCELLENT sniping maps, though it is slow to start up and has a HUGE ammount of cheaters (which are the reason I quit that game).

It was fun while it lasted.

 

I checked out WarRock, and it seems they've had a major security update, so there are far fewer cheeters. They haven't solved the chat bots though, they're still going.

Another thing about battlefront, the reticule (crosshair) is HUGE! The dot in the center is square and something like 10 pixels wide, bigger than the target's head sometimes. Also, lasers don't give the same 'Oomph' as a a bullet, they are just unsatisfying. great game for shotguns though!

 

If you're looking for challenging, satisfying sniping, give Call of Duty 4 online a try. You will also like Battlefield 2 if you liked Sniper Elite. You can try Team Fortress 2, although sniping is extremely easy if you're any good at Sniper Elite.

 

Actually... it's "Marine Sharshooter" and I think it's up to version 4
