Are these programs legit?

I keep getting prompts from Spy Sweeper asking whether I want these programs installed but I don't know what they are. I have Spy Sweeper remove them but the prompts come back the next time I boot up. I can't find much info about them that I trust so I thought I would put it to the experts. Sorry in advance if this is not the correct forum for this.

AOL Fast Start: C:\Program Files\America Online 9.0\aol.exe (HKCU Run) 2 versions

cftmon.exe: C:\Windows\Program Files\ctfmon.exe (HKCU RUN) 2 versions

MSMSGS: C:\Program Files\messenger\msmsgs.exe (HKCU RUN)

System specs:
Windows XP
AVG anti virus
Webroot Spy Sweeper anti spyware
Zone Alarm firewall

Easily answered, this forum is fine. Many startup items can safely be removed, though not all, just use some common sense. If you do not run it with Windows at every boot, it is not needed and can free system memory and help your computer run faster!

AOL: Not needed. Thats an understatement
ctfmon: Used by most Creative sound cards. Might lose sound without it, leave it be.
MSMSGS: MSN Messenger. Not needed, if you dont use it, uninstall it from add\remove programs, then Windows Compnents tab.
