Are You A Resident Evil Fan?

People know me as one of the biggest RE fans online. The 2002 remake is especially great.

However, I don't particularly like the overly praised trash that the mid to late 2000s brought us, like RE4. As an action game, it's fine. But it fails as a "survival horror" game. I mean, all you do is shoot farmers and collect stuff. Even as an action game, however, the tank controls feels so dated by 2021 standards.

Now RE8 is coming this May. Hooray for that very fat new merchant. He is called the Duke. But how is a game scary when a vendor assists you?

But seriously, though. The storyline seems kind of convuluted in general. It even concerns these vampire type women chasing you in a castle. But just why is it called RE then!?

I prefer the ‘old school’ Resi games - 0, 1, 2 & 3, I also like the remakes. But I feel Resi 4 is overhyped. I enjoyed it but there was something lacking, same with 5. I tried with RE 7 but while improved there was still something lacking.
I suspect 8 will be the same & has become just like the other horror games which use Vampires & Werewolves; I’m expecting Frankenstein’s creation & Mummies to be announced for it next.

I love the movies too. Many RE fans don’t though.

 

I picked up the Steam remaster of the original Nintendo draft.

Enjoyed it quite a bit, but I agree that sometimes for the purists among us, sequels suck...

 

RE8 cannot be, "the next generation of survival horror" when it's also coming out on the PS4 in May.

Oh, Capcom. You cannot fool thesaunderschild.

 

Excited for the RE8. Can't wait and hopefully exceeds my expectations.

You could try checking the PlayStation Network. They did put out a new gameplay video for the PS4.

 

Thanks, I prefer to play a demo rather than watching game trailers as I prefer to get the feel of the game which I don’t by watching video.
However it does look good.

 

I hope after this game comes out, they try to go back to the story about this Blue Umbrella, since the previous game implied they're the new group that's fighting bioweapons, that the Connections (the people Lucas Baker made a deal with), are possibly creating.

Or if they want to do more Revelations games, that would be cool. It's a great way to bring back characters that haven't appeared in like, forever.
