As Soon As I Post A Search In My Bing Hone Page,google Search Engine Takes Over

Hi Guys Hope you can help me out, as this issue is beginning to bug me.(Literally)
My browser is Firefox,my serach engine is Bing,always has without a problem,Today I was sent a genuine file that had to be opened via MEGASYNC,I downoaded megasync and found the file which I then downloaded from thier cloud to my documents.The site came without visible add ons.
Immediately afterwards I discovered that whenever I entered a search into my home page "BING" another window opened (GOOGLE)which took over the search.
I uninstalled MEGASYNC carried out a malware etc check ( 202 items) from an otherwise "Clean" PC.

But still google keeps coming up as the serach engine, whenever I place a search in my home page BING.....would appreciate knowing how to get it off my back..Thanks

 

Hey caskin, try going to Firefox settings, then Option, then Search and make sure Bing is still set as your default search engine .

 

Did that,and Bing is set as default.Ive just had another page appear "Deceptive Site" make Google report?
Whats all that about?Thanks for your help

 

Most likely picked up a couple PUP's......run AdwCleaner by Malwarebytes and then HitmanPro 3.8.0 Build 295

 

I agree with Replicator, give those a try.

 

If what these guys are suggesting doesn't work, Then I would highly, highly, recommend just saving whatever bookmarks You have and what whatever add-ons You may use. Uninstall & reinstall Firefox, as that seem like pretty fishy stuff, to me at least. Having something keeping you from choosing what search engine you want is not only annoying but also indicates obviously something up. And when You have stuff playing with your browser with what you may log-in to Social Media sites with or with whatever you may do online, You can never be to careful. Just my take. Hope you get it resolved, Caskin.
