    Dear,
I have downloaded a few updates files at once and when getting the "gom" videoplayer download stopped. Late on I saw Ask icon on my Fierfox screen. And the browser behave wrongly, tried me to use all the time Ask search, or froze completely. After applying a few programs: Advance System, Care, CCleaner, finally Malwarebytes antimalware identified a P.U.P program with name Ask in title. After deletion Firefox started to work, hopefully, correctly.
At the same time, I had got problems with Pinnacle video editor. I do not know why, but suspect, maybe Ask remained in system and makes problems. I found thread of Chaslang dealing with removal of Ask toolbar, which starts by MG tools. Following the guidence I have downloaded MG tools hoping I would run it and then ask Chaslang or somebody else to assess it.
Unfortunately the MG tools did not work, immediately finished and computer frozen. I even had to switch off computer by stopping power. I did not swich off my antivirus, maybe this could be the problem, but I was simply afreaid to follow.
Can somebody help, first by an advice, is my idea, Ask still acts somewhere in computer and influence programs like Pinnacle?
And second could somebody help to check whether Ask was fully removed from computer or not?
Working with Vaio and WIN 10 (what seems not to be a good combination, but this is not my mometary worry).

    Thanks in advance
    Ejemmila

Many thanks for proposed procedure. I went through it, trying to fulfill exactly all the steps. At the end I have got planned files, which I'll attach to the reply. The behavior of Pinnacle program, however, did not change. Files that I could import before, I still cannot import now. In one of the logs (I do not remember which one) I saw "an ask toolbar" or so, but following yr. instruction I did nothing. I do hope I succeeded to do all correctly and again thanks for help.

Re run Hitman Pro, activate/enable the free trial and then have it remove all that it is finding.

    Fix items using RogueKiller.

Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7/8 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
When it opens, press the Scan button
Now click the Folder tab and locate these detections:

    Code:
    [PUP][Složka] C:\ProgramData\{BAF091CA-86C4-4627-ADA1-897E2621C1B0} -> Nalezeno
    [PUP][Složka] C:\ProgramData\{FD6F83C0-EC70-4581-8361-C70CD1AA4B98} -> Nalezeno
Place a checkmark next to each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.
When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
Attach RKreport[2].txt to your next message. (How to attach)
    Reboot the machine.

    Download Cleano 1.31

Download it to your desktop, Right click the cleano.exe file and run as admin > and place check marks in the boxes as follows (click on link below to see image)

    View attachment 148092
Click clean now and exit the program.

http://imageshack.us/a/img841/7292/thisisujrt.gif Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.

Re run Hitman again and attach a fresh log.

    How are things running now?

    Dear Kestrel,
many thanks - it seems my problem with Pinnacle program and Ask tool were solved. Once more thanks to you. I have attached two of three files, you requested. RK file not. I do not know why. I ran Roque Killer twice in a raw. After the first attempt I did not find "Folder" that you asked me to work with. I close the program and ran it again, but I changed language from Czech to English. Only after I understood what place to click. However, the program refused to delete, saying the items were not deleted. I ran RQ yet once more and then the program did not show these two items I was to delete, only three that were before, but I should not check. And again nothing showed on the desktop. Sorry for it. I tried to follow your instruction as accurate as possible. At the end, however, your procedure was a success and thus I thank you once again
    Yours Ejemmila

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
