I downloaded ASK toolbar a very long time ago, and uninstalled it. But it is not completely gone. In Event Viewer, I keep seeing errors about askservice. Also, in the registry, Legacy_ASKservice is still there. How do I remove it?

    Hi

What Windows version and Service Pack are you using? (only asking if other steps or route maybe needed)

But one way is and if you are OK with editing the registry is to delete the Service directly, and to do this follow the below exactly as written, if your not happy with editing the registry find a friend or relitive that is,

If Vista or Win 7 type regedit into the Start Search box to load up regedit, if XP then click Start > Run and type regedit.

    Then navigate to this location
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services

Then look down the list in the services hive and delete the one you dont want.

YOU can also do this from a Command Prompt (in Vista/Win7 this has to be elevated so right click CMD and choose Run as Administrator) in XP ist fine, just run CMD

then type sc delete xxxxxxxx (where xxxxxxxx is the service name)
