I have a super weird problem. I have an Acer Aspire 3 notebook that had a minor spill on the keyboard. Afterwards it would boot to the POST logo then after about 2-3 seconds would shut down. I opened it up and there was no visible corrosion or anything. What I did that got it to work was start the machine, and as soon as I saw the Acer logo disconnected the keyboard flex (I had to have it connected to start it, as the power button is integrated into the keyboard), and it would boot fine and stay running. The trackpad wouldn't work, which may or may not be a separate issue. If I reconnected the keyboard with it running, it would immediately shut down. So I bought a new keyboard thinking that would solve the problem, but it's doing the exact same thing with the brand new one. In addition, I can disconnect the keyboard with the machine turned off, and jump the first two pins of the mobo keyboard connector, and it will start and run. Trackpad still won't work. So I guess it isn't a keyboard issue as it seemed to be. Motherboard I guess? Any thoughts?
