Hey, I am having problems with popups. winantivirus.com is a major one that I see alot. I followed all the steps in the "read this first" sticky. Can someone help me out? Thanks!

First please disable Spybot's Teatimer as was requested in the READ ME!

To disable TeaTimer, run Spybot and click Mode and select Advanced Mode. Then click Tools and select Resident. Now in the right window pane, uncheck TeaTimer.
Also while this is open, in the left column now select IE Tweaks and then in the right pane make sure all the Miscellaneous locks are unchecked.
    Now quit Spybot!

Is your copy of Ewido a free trial or paid version?

Before I can give you a fix, I need some info from another very fast scan:

Run the below procedure and attach the newfiles.txt log.

I could have sworn I turned tea-timer off. Well, now it is for sure. Ok, here is the file you requested. Thanks again.

Start by downloading two tools we will need

    - Process Explorer

    - Pocket KillBox

Extract them to their own folder somewhere that you will be able to locate them later.

IMPORTANT: You should print or save the below locally, so you can refer to them while offline. You must exit all browsers before running the below steps and it would be best if you actually physically unplug your cable to the internet, reboot, and do not run anything but what I give you to do. Also it would be good to exit all processes and items in your System tray.

Do the above before continuing! Okay unplug your cable now.

Make sure you have rebooted in Normal Mode (do not open any other processes)

    - Run Process Explorer

In the top section of the Process Explorer screen double click on winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen. Click on the Threads tab at the top.

Once you see this screen click on each instance of ssqpp.dll once and then click the kill button. After you have killed all of the ssqpp.dll under winlogon click ok. (If you do not find the dll, just continue on.)

Next double click on explorer.exe and again click once on each instance of ssqpp.dll and kill it. (If you do not find the dll, just continue on.)

    Now just exit Process Explorer.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop.
Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files"
Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Now click Start, Run, and enter cmd and click OK! This will open a command prompt window. In the command prompt window enter the below commands each followed by the Enter key.
    del %windir%\temp\win*.*
    exit

Now run Pocket Killbox by doubleclicking on killbox.exe
Choose Tools > Delete Temp Files and click Delete Selected Temp Files.
Then after it deletes the files click the Exit (Save Settings) button.

    Select:
    • Delete on Reboot
    • then Click on the All Files button.
    • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ssqpp.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ppqss.tmp
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ppqss.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ppqss~1.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\xbeeg.ini

    • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
    • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).
If Killbox does not reboot just reboot your PC yourself.

Now attach a new HJT log and a new log from ShowNew.

Also tell me how the steps went.

Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

The process went smooth. Thanks, so far I haven't seen any sign of popups. Here are my new logs.

The below file showed up in your log since yesterday:

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\
    bdavlgsx.dll Wed Jul 12 2006 8:40:28p A.... 98,324 96.02 K

Do you know what this is? Did you install or download anything new yesterday around that time?

I would like to get some more info on the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\bdavlgsx.dll file. Locate it using Windows Explorer and then right click on it and select Properties. Now see if there is a Version tab in the window. If so, select the Version tab and on the next window select each of the listed Item names (one at a time) to get more info about the file. The most important Item is the company name. If there is no Version tab, tell me that too.

Also run HJT and have it fix the below remnants that now showed up since we removed the infection in our last procedure:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0209583E-FFFF-496C-B407-9B1FF84276F7} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssqpp.dll (file missing)
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: ssqpp - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssqpp.dll (file missing)
