Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe

I'm just now building a new system with an A8N-SLI Deluxe, and i've run into a really odd problem...

i've always reffered to the motherboard ATX powe plug as a 24-pin ATX plug, but now that I look, all of my old motherboards are in fact 20-pim plugs with an extra 4 pin 12v connector.

on the A8N, it IS in fact a 24-pin EATX plug (so it says) and it ALSO has an additional 4-pin ATX 12v plug.

is there a new kind of power supply for such a setup? all of the power supplies I have will fit into the 24-pin plug, but they do not align with the clip, and they leave 4 pins empty, as they are 20-pin plugs.

any light that can be shed on this is greatly appreciated... weird new junk...

 

just looked around and saw that there ARE in fact 24 pin connectors on newer power supplies.... either I am blind, or I missed any mention of this change

hooray, time to spend another $60-90 and wait for a power supply...

 

i may have spoken too soon. if anyone knows whats up with the A8N-SLI Deluxe, please fill me in.

not only does it have a 24-pin ATX plug, it ALSO has a 4-pin ATX12v plug. no power supplies that I can find have both of these... i find either 1 24 pin ATX, or 1 20-pin ATX and a 4-pin ATX12v

 

just following up-- According to the ASUS support website in the FAQ, a high wattage 20-pin PSU will work just fine, as long as you plug an ATX Molex plug into the "EZ Plug" right next to the PCI Express 16x slot1.


glad I got that sorted out
