Asus A8V Delux

does any1 have this mobo?

 

Dad's work computer has this one and has always been great, never looked at it properly though, with all the locks and stuff you get on business systems!
Performs really well, however no serial or parallel ports on the back, not a problem if you don't need them though.

 

yea...its a nice board i have it but i cant seem to update my bios! i need help!

 

What is the actual problem you are coming across? Can't find the drivers? Getting an error message?

i just need a walkthrough...can anyone help me? like i made a dos boot disk and im supposed to be able to put the bios1009 on the boot disk and use ez flash it says its good then it reboots then it says its not right i have to configure or load rom previous...can any1 help me w/ a walkthrough

yea i saw that but the a8v delux or a8v isnt on there

 

cmos bad checksum or something...does ne1 know what that means

 

If you have an error, note the exact message/error and post it, for the best possible help!

Reset your mobo/Reset Cmos MOBO manual will have instruction as to how.
This will reset mobo to default settings.

In your bios I believe is a setting that will allow bios flash or not?

Try Bios recovery:
"AI BIOS
CrashFree BIOS 2~
Whenever BIOS gets corrupted, ASUS CrashFree BIOS 2 allows users to reboot the computer and perform an smart auto-recovery procedure through the motherboard support CD."

Why do you need to flash bios?
Is your PC bootable & is windows installed?
with Asus mobo's you can also use Asus EZ Flash utility to flash Bios from within windows.

All this and more is in the mobo manual, if you dont have one you can download from Asus web site.

 

i have bios1009 now..but i cant get the afudos it says it cant find rom file...i need to do it cus right now it only reads one of my ram sticks and also i duno how to fix it but it cant read my cpu fan i plugged it into 4 prong and all the other mobo plugs and still it cant read but it does spin

 

I was trying to get spec's/manual on your mobo from Asus web, but part of thier site is down at the moment.
I'll check it out tomorrow.

Your problems may have nothing to do with bios?
Try memory in different slot's, Might have a bad stick, try one stick at a time, but try both, to see if they both work alone.

What kind of cpu fan do you have?

 

no its the bios stuff the guy said i needed bios1009 and afudos and i cant get afudos...uh its a cooler master hyper 48...is that good?

 

What Guy, Just cause one say's so, dont necessarily make it so.
I'm not saying your guy is wrong? or rite, Lack of info makes it hard to diagnos.

As for fan ? Is it good? Dont Know, I'll check it out.

Last thing did you try to reset Cmos, check bios settings, update bios from windows Asus Flash utility & check out memory in different slot's!

 

yea the mems good but if i restart cmos will that make my bios1009 reset to the default bios?
