I've had this motherboard for about a year.
Originally I had a P4 2.8ghz cpu with 2gig (1gbx2) memory in dual channel sequence, 2 IDE harddrives.
Recently, my powersupply went out so i bought a new one and decided to upgrade to more memory (now 4gb same old memory + 2 1gb kingston pc3200 hyperx modules) and bought a new SATA harddrive which i am using with a fresh install of xp and an IDE as a backup.

For some reason, my boot up is much slower now (stays on the blue Welcome screen for a while) and my processing of applications is slower. i've tried basically everything in the book...from removing memories, changing usb ports, removing external hardware, removing the back up IDE drive and having only the primary SATA boot drive, nothing seems to do the trick.

    What am i missing here??

Just a guess here, but have you tried it with just your original RAM in the computer? Try that, then try it with just the new RAM. Sometimes the RAMS don't like each other!

Yeah man hes right, when you have ram you need to check the speed of your ram and check how much RAM can go into the MoBo. If you fed your MoBo something slower then what you are currently running or vice versa then your memory will run at a super slow speed. You have to balance it out with the same speed for most cases or just put new sticks in and save older ones for back up. H mm other possibilities are that maybe you have handled your RAM incorrectly and it got a lil ESD and sometimes you don't have to feel it and its killing the ram slowly(worst case scenario ) But yeah man you can check your BIOS settings cause it could have gotten reset somehow Probably not a big deal I hope. Also refer to this and check out your RAM http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/

That will scan your RAM slots and Type and tell you what should and should not be there :)
