at a friends house please help

my friend just bought unreal tournament 2004 and i tried it at my house and everything ran smoothly and when they try it here they put it in the drive and nothing happens the cd dosent come up and i dont know what to do please help

Isn't your cd-rom damaged? Can you read other CDs using the device?
Can you hear anything from the CD-Rom - is it working? Does the CD-Rom's led blink?

 

yes other cd's do work and it is making sounds i think the light flashes

 

several stupid questions:
is the installation media a CD exactly but not a DVD? aren't you trying to insert the DVD to a CD-ROM?
if all that is ok, how old is your CD-ROM? Some old devices can't detect CDs that aren't finalized. Maybe it's your case.
Anyway, have you tried to run your CD from the My Computer? Maybe simply CD autorun is turned off on this comp for some reason.

 

kk the cd is a dvd yes i'm trying to put the dvd into a CD-ROM i dont know how to check how old it is i have tried from the MY COMPUTER and no cd shows up in their D drive but other cd's work...

Wolf, the DVD CAN'T be read by the CD-ROM!
That is the answer.
You need to buy the new DVD-ROM.
