Hello, every1. I have a problem with my computer: Win. XP SP2, mobo's A8N5X with 6.85 drivers installed, 1 Gb RAM, Seagate 80 Gb SATA HDD (with OS) + 40 Gb ATA HDD (with some files), graphics - ASUS GF7600 En Silent 512 Mb. There 1 "Unknown device" in device manager - n' I can't find any driver for it. Seems everything works OK. But when it goes to Standby mode and when it wakes up - there's no ATA HDD, just the SATA HDD. So to make it work ok I have to reboot the whole system. What's wrong here? Plz, help.

Sounds like the 40GB is getting ready to die. Back up your data ASAP! After you back up your stuff, you might see if you can disable power settings on the drive. Sometimes formating a drive with problems will work for a while, but never trust it.

Can you access the drive before Standby? You could try a new IDE cable, or try it on another IDE channel.

Some devices have a setting something like "allow Windows to shut off this device to save power". I know network adapters and modems have this setting. Maybe this HD has it too, and it's enabled, and not reconnecting after standby.... check the device manager's properties for the device/drive in question.
