ATI Radeon HD 3450 MOM.Implementation errors

Discussion in 'Hardware' started by Gypsy Miles From Nowhere, Mar 7, 2010.

  1. :(
    Hi;
just got here this morning. I am suffering from the "Could not load file or assembly, 'MOM.Implementation, Version 2.0.3452.36871, Cultute=neutral, PublicKeyToken=90ba9c70f846762e' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
I did find the post on here from about a year ago. I did uninstall the .NET Frameworks; all of them. I did run the Windows Cleanup Utility. I did run CCleaner; several times. I did reinstall all previously installed .NET Frameworks that had previously been on the system. I've downloaded and installed all updates.
I've been here since 3 am. I've gone to ATI Radeon HD 3450 to download updates. Would not install. Removed traces. Got sucked into buying Driver Whiz; have since sent them copies of all the errors their program made with a demand for a refund. Have since cleaned all traces from their garbarge. Ran CCleaner again repeatedly.
I have uninstalled the ATI software in the add/remove in control panel and tried to reinstall from ATI, with no luck and am including the most recent error message. I did go back to the thread to see if I could enter this there, but it is closed so I came back here. PLEASE, H-E-L-P..... I'm baffled!!!:yum

I've seen this error before but never had as much trouble as you seem to have had.

If I remember correctly this was caused by installing .NET 2.0 on it's own and was fixed by installing 1.1 with it, so I started from scratch.

    This is what I did:

Download the latest stable software suite including driver from AMD/ATI (making certain you have the correct one)
    Save it to Docs.

Uninstall ALL ATI software and drivers (including CCC, ATI installer etc)
    Reboot.
    Run Ccleaner Reg cleaner tool.
    Reboot
Install Downloaded software which should include both .NET 1.1 & 2.0

I realise you say you've tried it but it's the only fix I know of and I've performed it a few times.

You could also try a system restore, I seem to remember fixing it with the S.R. on my sons PC.

  3. It's okay, I'm ready to throw the system in the shredder if this keeps up. No, actually I've managed to get my scanner working and am even able to rip CDs at this point.
I have repeated all the steps you've suggested. Including removing all of the ATI software. I have done a system restore twice today, but the MOM.imp error has been there for some time. I did a factory resotre and have just two months later managed to get all my software back. Much of it is animation stuff and limited downloads, so much of it was saved only with a lot of fast talking.
I am going to call it a night, as the more I sit here, the more frustrating it gets and it isn't doing me or the system any good. Some times it is good to walk away and cool down for a bit. I'll be back in the morning and will be the first to let you know when I DO get it fixed. I'll start again early tomorrow and remove a whole bunch of stuff, clean it all up and then work back to square one and see if maybe I've overlooked something. I must have because I've followed what everyone else has tried with success. I did try to upload the response I got from my last attempt with installing the ATI Driver, but it appears not to have loaded. I'll try again here and maybe you can see why it hasn't worked???rolleyes
Good sign, the attachment loaded. LOL
Just a note, I do have a nice little unit like yours there with an air bag up front...

Man, I feel your pain lol

I would (and have lol) also try different versions of the ATI software/drivers

When I got my new GFX a month or so ago I was using XP and the only semi stable version I could get to work was one from around August last year. I eventually gave up and installed Win7 which fixed all my issues lol.

In your shoes I would reinstall Windows, since in 3 hour flat all problems would be fixed, but I'm guessing since you have limited download software, you're not keen on doing that.

It seems from the log file that the install failed because of an error with the package.
    Have you tried different versions?
I'm presuming since that install has a free trail of LOTR that it's a disc version?

Ok here's a whacky idea and I'm not recommending it, this is what I would try.
Do so at your own risk.

Uninstall all your ATI stuff again.

    Run
    RegEdit

    Edit tab - Find
    MOM

It should/might find you the entry, I would then attempt to delete it directly.

Then run a full clean up with Ccleaner
Run the Reg cleaner in Ccleaner

    Reboot

    Install ATI stuff.......again.

WARNING! Do NOT under any circumstance transform PC into projectile instrument and set it on a course for the window......... Windows are expensive ;)

  5. :)No, the download was from the ATI site. The LOTR has been uninstalled. The hubby is the gamer, not me. LOL I was kind of wondering about the bottom of that note, that mentions the extra items which I can't seem to find here with any search.
I'm still arguing with Driver Whiz for my money back and they are trying to tell me what control panel is and Add/remove program and also explaining thinigs such as device manager. I sent them back a suitably sarcastic letter.
If I were to use this as a projectile, there is only one window in this hole and its one of the really expensive three pane glass things. I'm always terrified of getting caught in a fire here as the bedroom is at one end, the kitchen in the middle and the exits all on the far side. You'd really have to know the situation to understand the problem there. I can't wait to get back into the mountains...
I've spent the day at the hospital so am going to finish up email and will follow your footsteps the moment I'm done; will let you know the outcome. I do have a new 1 TB hddrve and am prepped to remove programs and save there. Also just got a new server; one of those four bay Acers. Everything is backed up this time. I think I've got the jump on them and may just go back to factory; again.
Are you sure you wouldn't like the model with the air bags??? It looks so much easier on the forehead...ROFLMAO

My XP is in the kitchen with the HDs out and am just waiting on a couple of screws to put the thing back together. Kinda getting used to the Vista on here, but like the Lightscribe in the HP notebook. The Vista Notebook is apart too as I am replacing the screen. LOL Three systems and only the desktop up at the moment.

  6. First, I have gone to try and remove the rest of the ATI stuff from the control panel. The only thing that is there is the ATI Control Centre Panel: Monitoring Program and once it is selected, there is no option to delete, only to repair. This should be right as the error message indicated yesterday, the driver did not install, so it should not be in there. I am now in the registry and looking at the list that came up in the MOM search and have included here as an attachment. My first question is since thumbnail at the beginning of all lines shows the torn page, doesn't that mean that there is something is wrong with these entries? Second, should I be deleting the whole lot. I have three more screen shots from the list and will try to add in a moment. If I can't, the one lists 'Catalyst Control Centre: Monitoring Program.' Is this the only thing I should be deleting?

  7. I have run the Ccleaner and gone through the registry several times with it now, but it doesn't show any problems in the registry. Here are the rest of the screen shots. The last took a while to find but I knew it was here. Have fun.

You're looking for the reg file relating to ATI.
You can also look through the Program Files folder to find anything ATI and remove those. Then using Ccleaner to clean out reg entries left over and the Add/Remove in Ccleaner to remove the ATI entry in Add/Remove.

This is most probably where the issue lies, left over ATI stuff that is no longer connected to anything.
    The fix? Remove everything ATI.

  9. :wave I did the search and destroy on all ATI files on the system. It's GONE!!! I am not even sure if I want it back after all this. I've run Ccleaner (many times) but it finds nothing amiss when cleaning, when going through the registry; nothing. I next ran RegCure, which the techies use on long distance service, and it found another 300 errors which I cleaned as well. RegFix is maintaining the 175 error mark, which isn't too bad since when I first ran it I was told that there were 500 errors. It did go down to three and change before finally settling and remaining at the 175 mark. I am not going to complain.
:-D Don't laugh too hard, but now .NET Framework refuses to install. Not much else wants to go in either. I've fooled them all though as almost everything has been transferred onto the externals.
I have two more very large files to remove and tomorrow is either back to factory or complete reinstall. Yet to be determined by yours truly. I will go with the back to factory first. If that doesn't work and I am not in a psych ward somewhere down south by then :drool, I will do the complete reinstall. :cry At least I won't be losing everything on the system by then.
I have to hit ebay as the computer shop won't sell me two damned screws for the HD on the one notebook. HOLA All that for two screws. rolleyes I'm tempted to steal a couple from a spot that they aren't so important. LOL
You have a good night and once again, thank you so very, very much.

  10. Wanna trade AVs???

  11. Nedlamar

    Nedlamar MajorGeek

Ok so you got rid of it but have seemingly removed/lost something to do with your windows installer?
    Ain't PC's fun lol

As for trading AV's, you mean anti viruseseses?

    Go get Avast free ;)

Oh and you're more than welcome , even though I'm not convinved I actually helped solved your problem lol

  12. :wave Nope, I was thinking along the lines of avatars. :-D Did you know that on E-Bay now the meaning of HP Notebook DV8000 series parts means only batteries, power cords, RAM and the occasional new system. I did find one screw for $9.95 plus shipping, but at 3/4" long, figured that's a bit of overkill. As of late, I am most definitely finding some disillusionment in systems, but then without them, what would I do all day?
I'm running Avira on here and it has turned out to be pretty darned good so far. I do have purchased copies of McAfee, Norton and AVG, but not on here. I have Avast on the HP though. Works pretty good. I talked with a fellow online that was very proud of his system. Couldn't figure out the viruses and other garbage he was getting on his system. I advised some solutions and he proudly informed me that he had eighteen different antivirus, spyware, malware and other such programs. I referred him to some sites for more information. LOL
So I am waiting on a call from Dell. They are once again going to try to get me my information from my Data Safe. If they fail again, this will make the fourth time they toss my information. Figured that I better get it taken care of when they sent me a notice that they were going to automatically renew my service. HELL NO!!! I've been trying to get the information off for a couple of weeks, but for reasons known only to them, it won't come off. Now the guy I spoke with two days ago has had trouble getting the thing to work again and I am just waiting for the call back. Never again. I'll be storing my own information from now on. At least then I'll have only myself to blame when I lose it.
You have a good day and the moment I'm done with Dell, it's back to the grindstone. One good thing about the whole mess is that I am sure learning a lot about the software side of things. :)

  13. :-o Sorry, but no I haven't forgotten you. Just got out of the hospital. Was a bit sick for a bit. I did fix the MOM.imp. problem with going back to factory; I did screw up the system some with the new server which I know not a thing about at the moment, but am fast learning. Didn't want you thinking that I'd left you hanging after all the help you gave me. It was priceless and thank you very much. I would make this a little longer, but got to lay down. :tired Back to the hospital tomorrow. :cool I'll deal with it one of these days. Today, I just wanted them to put me down for the count. LOL
You take care and thank you so very much. :wave
