Hi Peter, you know more than you give yourself credit for, honestly! :)

I would just uninstall the ATI Graphic drivers and then let the Dell tech sort your new card out and drivers, do get them to test the PC a few times and by a few times I mean a few full shutdowns and startups and then do some general surfing and tasks like Word Processing etc or things you normally do on your PC, does this at least twice before letting them leave.

You too on weekend, its sunny here for once and horse racing is on tomorrow a few mins away so may go watch that or wash the car ;)

    Hi David
I am getting a new Studio XPS 8300 instead of my 8100 exchange. It was an extremely tedious task. All specs are the same or better.
I am requesting nvidea in lieu of ATI for better or worse.
Question; is the Revo "Tracks Cleaner" the app to use for ease in cleaning the hard drive before I send it back or should I just format to factory settings?
I ask because i did not want to get involved with discs, etc.
I do not understand how an app can clean a hard drive if it resides upon it. Do you just see a blank screen when a drive eraser is done?

    Hello
I had an ATI Radeon HD 5450.
I am now getting an Nvidea GE Force GT 420.
Both are 1GB and I realize they are not for gamers which I am not.
However, I cannot find a way to determine if they are the same price range or tier?
    Thank you

    Hi Peter

By all accounts its a simliar spec and price point and rough estimates I have seen is if you wish to buy one its around $40-50 for both

Some info HERE on the Nvidia and its in the same tier as the 5450 as Guru3D are compairing it like for like or possibly like for like.

I think you have a great stable card in the Nvidia and superb drivers.

As you are not a gamer it will suffice for video and all other needs.

I sent an email which clarifies some issues related to this.
Yes, I have discoved the similarity but am much happier with the card issue, in context.
