The two-hand hammer-on stuff reminds me of Stanley Jordan from 20 years ago.

Brilliant stuff, thanks for the link Bluesman. Does make you wanna give up but envious at the same time. Still Hendrix walked round with his guitar on all day, probably get in the way at work though! ;)

I wish I could play all day, not gonna happen though lol. Watching this guy has inspired me again though. I have already called up buddies that are pro's and begged for some lessons and jamming time. I have found in the past that sitting in with people that are much more advanced than yourself, forces you to accel. I can't wait for the first session. My friend can shred just like Bob and says there are only 4 basic things I need to make second nature. We are going to sit down soon and go over the techniques then after a few weeks I may try playing it live to force me to be up to par, but we'll see. Gonna depend on how other things go.

    Re: Blues Shred Jam

Finally! Put my finger (no pun intended) on which guitar player (in my opinion) influenced the scales he is using on this track. A scarcely known Black Sabbath disc from 1983 entitled Born Again, with Ian Gillan on vocals, features some of Tony Iommi's best and darkest work and this Bob Zabek jam takes me right back to the days when that cassette hardly left the deck in my Camaro.

Thanks for posting this link, Bluesman. This guy is absolutely amazing and seems to have, somehow, read my "internal riff list." He ranks right up there with those few guys who are impossible for me to grow tired of listening to... Page and Satriani are a couple others from the list.
