I want one. If my daughter didn't have a not so subtle hint of evil I'd so buy a decptively evil barky dog. And a big one to eat it if it gets out of line...

My poochie, Winter. Getting older. Bark a lot, loud, very defensive, males tend to be mean. Your smart, always research before making that plunge.

I want a real dog but I'd probably end up with a pocket puppy. A real dog would eat my kid, and she would probably deserve it.

We shall see... maybe later on. Thinking when I DO take that plunge might go for one of those retired Grayhounds. They're sweet mellow dogs... I might even get one that eats cats... that'll teach that little siamese bastard... :p

Amen to that. All 4 of ours were rescues. If you are looking for a particular breed, there are generaly rescue groups for that breed that can help you find the right furry addition to your family. If you get to that point and need any help, let me know, we tend to keep our fingers on the pulse of the rescue community.

How old is your girl? Most decent dogs get along well with kids. Looking at my boy when he was 10 or so the dog and he practically thought alike.

my girl is 7, but she is delayed, so she's essentially a great big toddler, and does not understand she should not do some things as they may harm her or others, a dog would not be safe at current time. The cats run... but they still have gotten "hair cuts" sat on, stuffed into tiny spaces and left there, strangled by various objects and painted. If I were a dog, I'd bite her.

I hate it when people say,"the kids can do anything to that dog, pull it's ears, jump on it, shove cookies down it throat, and it just takes it". How stupid are the parents letting their children torture a poor animal.
Your very wise Wenchie not subjecting an animal to that plus the safety of your daughter too. I've always said never trust animals or children, you can never be sure what they will do.

    LOL All Hail Fluffy!

I miss having a dog . . . but at this point any dog would end up being a cat toy around my house . . . rolleyes
