Aw, I just kid around about Abby's cooking; she's actually a terrific cook.

Just the other day we were driving down I-95 and she said "pull over, that's got potential".

ROFL...having been out hunting all day and got nothing, that kinda appealed greatly to my humor

 

Maybe you're using the wrong weapon Lev. I've come lots closer to killing deer with my car than with a rifle.

 

I've go to admit, with all the miles I rack up to and from work each week, I'm surprised I've not hit anything more on the interstate than that one armadillo a year or two ago. At about 80 mph, it was like hitting a bowling ball.

 

I actually hit a deer some years ago doing about 55 mph. Actually she tried to commit suicide by bolting out into my path. Just a glancing blow though. Sounded like she took the whole side of my car off, looked in my rear view miror and she was spinning on her back like a break dancer. Leaped to her feet and finished darting across the road. Tough critters.

 

The only other thing I can remember hitting since I've been driving was a heron; it took flight right in front of me, and I hit it with the antenna of the car I was driving. That long neck was, unfortunately, an easy target.

 

Maybe you're right GT and I should go armed with a rolling pin in future

The only thing I hit was a badger with a motorbike and sidecar when I was 4 months pregnant

@GT...I think it's safe to enter the kitchen again and cook ravioli now

 

The only other living thing I've hit was a 4 year old girl that darted out from between 2 parked cars when I was 18. Wasn't going fast, but had no time to react (other than hitting the brakes) and nowhere to go. She survived, but her bouncing off my hood is a memory I'll NEVER forget.

As far as the deer though, actually killing one with a car can make for some VERY expensive road-kill. Probably better to stick to the rifle.

Sorry, but our eldest son, wife and our nephew turned up after they got out of Autzen Stadium after the Ducks game (which we won yayyyyy!) and ate the rest if the ravioli and also the chocolate cream pie (mmmmmmm), but tomorrow is another day and another dinner

Duck is one gamey taste I don't like, but I do get to go to Autzen next weekend and watch the Oreogn Ducks thrash Washington
