    Hi all,
I want to use Audacity to add 3 seconds of silence to my MP3s. Reason being is that my car stereo won’t play the first 3 seconds of an MP3 and if I add 3 seconds of silence BEFORE the track begins – it works. I want to know how I can edit multiple MP3s to add the 3 second silence to save time doing them one-by-one.:cry

The stereo has always done this and is a known issue - there are no fixes available for it and I don't have the funds for a new one!

    Can anyone help me?

I read through the features of Audacity online, and there is no reference to batch processing. So I'm under the impression that you will have to modify the files one at a time.

Thanks for taking the time to look it up. It's a pity there isn't a function for this because Audacity is a great program.

Are you able to suggest a free program that can do batch processing as I need it?

None that I know of, but it's not my area of expertise. Maybe someone else will chime in with a recommendation
