I have Win7. and Audacity and now when I go to Export a WAV File to my DeskTop I do not see it.

But if I open Audacity and go to DeskTop I can see my File and Open it.

Is Audacity making it In Visable?

    I doubt it.

There are 3 users listed in Windows Explorer on the computer I'm currently working on: Default, my username on this computer and Public.
Check to see exactly which desktop Audacity is set to place the file.

You want it on C:\users\your username\Desktop

If you don't see it on your desktop, then the path in Audacity is not set up correctly by you.

I have Audacity and something is going on with Saving Files and yes I am on the ADMIN Account.

When I save a WAV File or any File from Audacity to my DeskTop then Closs Audacity.

I go on my DeskTop and the File is not here.

But if I go back into Audacity and go to Open then Look on the DeskTop I see it.

So Audacity can see it on my DeskTop if I Search fron with in Audacity.
But if I am just on my DesckTop the File will not show.

    And one more strange thing.

If I save a File from Audacity to a Folder on my DeskTop then it will be there.
Even if I Exit Audacity and go to my DeskTop if I go to the Folder I put it in on my DeskTop it will be there.

Does anybody know what is going on?

From your Desktop - open Windows Explorer and perform a file search for the WAV; you'll then have the answer as to where your saves are going.

OK when I go to Export a File from Audacity I click C: Drive.
    Then I Click Users.
Then I Click my User Account Name.
    Then I Click DeskTop.

    And Export here.

If I exit Audacity and go to my DeskTop I do not see the File here.

But if I Open Adacity again and go to Open and go to DeskTop it shows.

So Audacity can see it but not me.

Now you may still tell me I Am Not Exporting To The Right Folder.

So this is how I know I am Exporting to the Right Folder.

If I Export to the same DeskTop but I save to a Folder on my Desktop I can go on my DeskTop and into that Folder and See it.

So this tells me Audacity will save my Files only to a Folder on my DeskTop but not Right to the DeskTop.
But it never did this before.

I do not know what is going on???????

*Add a restart of your PC at this point to see if it appears on your Desktop afterwards.

OK if I save to a FOLDER on the DeskTop and then Exit Audacity and go into that Folder the File is there.

But if I save a File Right to the DeskTop and Exit Audacity then go to my DeskTop the File is not there.

So now I know Audacity wont save my File RIGHT to the DeskTop but just to a Folder.
So does this help you to help me?

Did you follow my advice and do the restart?

    Again - do this...
Do you have your operating system on a different drive than your documents? Do you have Folder Options set to "show hidden files, folders, and drives" ?

    You will not beleave it.

I just opened a File and went to save it as a WAV to my DeskTop to see if this would work.
    And it did.

Then I went to save it to my DeskTop as an MP3 and it worked.

Now I am going to make a Recording and try to save it to the DeskTop and see if this works.
