My Audigy 2 card had been working fine. Last night I upgraded to a new motherboard and CPU and I transferred all my peripherals into the system and did a fresh install of XP Pro w/ SP2.

Everything was detected, but for some reason, my Audigy 2 doesn't get installed right by Windows. I keep getting "This device cannot start (Code 10)" in Device Manager.

I've tried installing the original drivers from the CD that came with it. They install fine, but there is still a yellow (!) in Device Manager. Also, it does not say "Audigy 2" like it did on my previous Windows install.

I tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling the drivers manually and using the web update from Creative to no avail. When I try to install the drivers manually, I get an error about not finding 'ctac32k.sys,' but when I find it manually, it gets installed and gives me a warning about the Windows driver certification thing.

I'm using an Asus A7V600-X w/ an Athlon XP 3000+, 1,280MB RAM, and an Asus 9600XT. No overclocking.

Any clues as to what may be going wrong?

    Fixed.

Removed drivers in Safe Mode and disabled OS Plug and Play in BIOS.
