Audio device removed

    Hi my mom accidently deleted realtek audio from our computer in the add/remove programs and ive been trying to remedy the problem but so far ive had no luck. I was wondering what i needed to do to get sound back on the computer. I have windows XP professional service pack 3 and i could really use help thanks. Also im not that computer savvy so be patient with me :)

    Hi

    Cheers for the log from Everest, as you have SP3 we should not need the UAA driver, but if audio still doesnt work after following the below, then please pop back into the thread and let us know, but do tell us what the problem was, if error messages etc adn what they where.


    Install the Chipset driver from HERE then reboot, crucial to reboot as the driver only fully installed after a reboot.

    Then install the Audio driver from HERE and reboot, then test sound.

    Hi David i followed your instructions but had no success. There were no error messages but the sound still didnt work and even after i downloaded everything it still said no audio hardware was found.

    Hi

    Ok it may seem that more is wrong with the deleted driver than meets the eyes, so try the below and only do so if you are confident in editing the registry (the registry in Windows is not to be messed with lightly and can if you do not follow the instruction exactly, cause the PC to end up not booting or failing) if you are nto confident then see if a relitive or friend is.
