   i have recently had to reinstall XP on my girl friends computer and the dell website has repeatedly given me the wrong driver every time ive gone to them for help so ive come here. Attached is an everest report of her system. so if anyone has some free time could they point me to the driver of my interest

   Without knowing what you have already tried, the route I would take is to get the Chipset Driver and the Audio Driver (the Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated Audio one) from HERE at Dell for the 4550
   
   The install the Chipset Driver first then reboot and install the Audio.
   
   
   Very outside chance that with you using SP2 for XP that you "may" need the UAA driver and the ones from HP here work fine in OEM pcs.
