First- Welcome to Major Geeks:D Now, I'm sometimes not a completely informed and up-to-date individual, but what the heck is a K7? I did a quick Yahoo search and come up with nothing pertaining to K7 audio.... Anyway, copying files, music, video, data, whatever, from one source to the hard drive is more or less the same. You have to explore the source of the files (a CD or DVD, thumb drive, network/shared drive, USB device like a camera) and select the ones you want, then copy-n-paste 'em to the hard drive; usually to a folder created ahead of time. Like if I'm copying .MP3's from my thumb drive: I make a folder called 'new mp3s' or something, then I plug in the thumb, then go to My Computer, right-click the thumb, choose Explore, then I highlight the desired files, right-click, choose copy, navigate to 'new mp3s', right-click and choose paste. That's it. Copying all file types is pretty much the same....

i dont know if you were expecting it to just "recognise" the cassette player? but that wont work, that works with digital electronic stuff thats designed to be used in that way, i.e usb or firewire things, if you taken the outputs from the cassette player (NOT THE AMPLIFIED ONES, MUST BE LINE LEVEL!) and connect this to the line in, not the mic port, if they are colored, they will be green for the stereo output, and pink for the mic, but blue is the one you want, plug it in, now you will need to record this audio, so you will need software to do this, download audacity, its free and only small, its bullet proof and simple to use, you can get it here http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/windows get the program and a few plugings, the mp3 one youll need later on, once installed youll need to select the line in from the menu in audacity, then click the record button, then hit play on the player, you should then see the blue bars forming, this is the waveform audio being written, once the tape has finnished, you then chop it into "tracks" and export it as wav, ogg or mp3, i recommend you use mp3, but you need an encoder, this is suggested in audacity, and a link to get it free is provided, once done, you can then put these files on your mp3 player, burn them to cd, or just store and play them on your hdd, remember to observe copyrights though, if it aint yours dont share it! i hope this helps! :major i-CONICA :major
