OK, I did look in the SOftware forum first, but this is not so much a 'help me' type question as a general question.

I used to use AcidDJ, but I find it lacking in several areas whenI go to create custom mixes. I am hoping that my fellow geeks can help with some suggestions for a good audio mixing proggie. Cost is a non issue at the moment, I am looking for opinions as to what would be a good proggie for taking a song, cutting, pasting, adding, removing, adjusting, etc. I think the best way to explain is by asaying that i love to experiment by taking current songs and remixing them with other songs, older songs, effects and other audio clips.

The problem I have run into with AcidDJ is that while I can add all sorts of tracks to a song, I can not actually upena spot inthe song to add things like movie audio clips and such. A strong backbeat is nice, but I tend to be a little more creative.

Any and all suggestions are welcome, preferably backed by personal experience with the software in case I have further questions on it.

Thanks in advance to everyone. I am trying to get back into the re-mix business again, and it is a lot more high tech and competative than it used to be. I used to supply some killer remixes to a local club, for free, so no RIAA issues (it's only illegal if you get a monetary compensation for your work.) I do it because I lvoe playing and being creative like that.

Quite a few years back I used Ejay,I dabbled with the advance features a little adding my own beats ect cut from other tunes,If I were to make one now I'd create the audio with Ejay 'not sure whats happening with Ejay these days though'and then add it to a movie file using windows movie maker.

Adobe premier gets used alot in many of the custom movies I'v seen, its not cheap though :)

Audacity is what I use to make ring tones. Works well enough for me.
