    Hi there,

I have been having issues with the audio on my Toshiba Satellite U300.
I have the little red X over the audio icon on the bottom right. When I click on it says no audio output devices.
In device manager there is no tab for Sound game controller.
I downloaded realtek driver and manually tried to add it by right clicking on my comp. at the top of the device manager page. I added with the wizard and it comes up saying "invalid access to memory" I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Really dont know what to do from here, and Im not totally computer savy...
    Any help?

    Thanks!

    Hi and welcome to MG's,
First off we need more info about your machine so please follow the instructions as per what OS you have installed...

    1.) Win 98/2000/ME and XP.....

    run everest ..... http://majorgeeks.com/download4181.html

Click Report (top menu) > Report Wizard > Next
Choose System Summary Only > Next
Choose Plain Text > Finish and wait for report to generate
Click Save to File and leave the File Name as Report, then click the Save as Type dropdown and choose Report files (*txt) and click Save (n.b. Save to desktop is best as easy place to find it, use Browse to locate desktop)

Add the report in your next post like this.....

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86880

    2.) Vista and Win 7.....

Download the free, Speccy http://majorgeeks.com/Speccy_d6358.html then run Speccy and click File > Save as Text File, then attach the log as per instructions below (note: as Speccy also now lists more data it likely will have your Windows licence serial key also in the log, so look for Operating System and under that Serial Number and delete the code and Save the log)

Then attach your log to your next post as per these instructions http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86880

this will give us the relevent info needed.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
You need to install the chipset driver dependant of what OS is installed first then reboot so your system recognises the changes.....
    1.) chipset for Win 7.... http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/csutil-20091027155937.zip
    2.) Vista.... http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/csutil-20070705095700.zip
    3.) XP.... http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/csutil-20070828104529.zip
Depending on what version of OS download and install the sound driver that is for that OS....
    1.) Win 7...... http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/sound-20091027160155.zip
    2.) Vista..... http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/sound-20080129122351.zip
    3.) XP...... http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/sound-20070828123958.zip
It is VITALLY IMPORTANT that you install the CHIPSET first then REBOOT!! and you must also reboot after the sound install or your system will not save the changes that have been made.
