Audio or CD issue

Im sorry I am not a computer whiz, I have Multiple Sclerosis and my son's sound went out I followed your redigit etc... but what is a upperfilter/lowerfilter? There is nothing listed like that. It has default, Icon, Class, Media, Mmsys.cpl,mediaclassinstaller page loader etc. What should I delete if anything? Thanks Maria

I have tried doing what Imadork8317 said but I do not know what a lowfilter or highfilter is and what I should remove. I don't want to delete something that I need, the driver is still on add/remove programs>>> I am just really confused. Anyone out there can help me? I have multiple sclerosis and my memory is shot so I would need step by step instructions

Hi Maria

Youd would have to first tell us what issues you are having with your PC as deleting any filters may not be the fix for your issue, and not every issue is the same on a PC.

The filters are what allow many applications to connect with the CD drives from Cd bruning apps to media players, when multiple applications of the same type are installed sometimes the filters become corrupt so deleting them and starting over and installing your favoured burning software is best option.

If you are having a CD/DVD issue then, do tell us what Windows version you using, what the problem actually is and any error messages, but if filters are at fault then this is best option for you http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 as its has an automated fix for the filters to save you doing it, its the FixIt option
