Audio problem..

Hey hows everyone doing? I have a problem with my audio. A couple of days ago i installed a new video card to my motherboard, and in doing so, i had to unplug some things to get everything to fit nicely. Now when i turned on my computer, i had no sound. I went to Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices and it says No Audio Device. I went to the manufacture site of my motherboard (Asrock) and i downloaded the audio driver for my motherboard and it said that my motherboard didn't contain the audio chip. This is what lead me to believe that i might have unplugged something.. Can anyone help me bring my sound back? Thanks.

PS: My motherboard is a Asrock K7S41GX (very outdated, i know)

 

Actually come to think of it, i believe that my sound did work for a little bit after i installed the video card. Anyone know whats up?

 

Hi ya DarkFable.

When I installed an extra LAN card this happened to me as well.

What I did is to simply unplug the Audio card and then plug it back in.
Then boot back up.
Alternative method if the first method doesn't work would be to unplug the Audio card... boot up... Shut down... plug the card back in then reboot.

99% of the time this will let the system find the Audio card again.

 

As you said the audio card is a bit outdated. Maybe a BIOS update would help.
