Audio Problem

I recently bought a used computer and anytime I try to play anything with audio, wether its a cd or just background music for a web page it speeds up the music and makes it all tinny sounding. Yet on the front of my tower there is a little button that has the next symbol on it (>>) and when I put a cd in and press that button it will play the cd just fine, and it doesnt open any programs that i can tell. Is there anyway for me to slow down the music?

 

have you try to play the cd on WMP or other player?

 

Yes I have. Ive tried it in WMP and my mp3 player program Sonic Stage. It all sounds the same. One thing I forgot to mention was when I open my volume controls, the main volume control doesnt work. I have to use the wave volume control.

You might need to reinstall your os.
