Hi everyone. I managed to really screw up and delete something on my Japanese PC called KLE & PLE Utilities. I had actually done some research and came to the conclusion it was spyware...and it was the wrong conclusion. Whoopsy. Not only did deleting it reduce my display to 16 colors max, it took out my video and audio, and also messed something up with my firmware: my CD-RW drive is not showing up and I've got a Code 31 in the Device Manager. Ugh. Anyway, I was able to restore my colors and video, but the audio and firmware is still messed up. Got any ideas?

    Here is my motherboard info:
    Intel Celeron-S, 1100 MHz (11 x 100)
Motherboard Name: AOpen MX36LE-UN (3 PCI, 1 CNR, 2 SDR DIMM, Audio, Video, LAN)
Motherboard Chipset: VIA VT8601T Apollo PLE133T
System Memory: 247 MB (PC100 SDRAM)

    Here is some audio info:
    AC'97 audio controller:
    Audio Controller type: VIA 686A/686B/8231
    Codec Name: ICEnsemble ICE1232
    Codec ID: 49434511h

I would really appreciate any help you guys can give!!

The KLE/PLE files are chipset files for the VIA chipset....

    VIA 4-in-1 Chipset http://download.aopen.com.tw/userdownload_List.aspx?RecNo=3358&Model=MX36LE-UN
    Audio http://download.aopen.com.tw/userdownload_List.aspx?RecNo=4018&Model=MX36LE-UN
    Video http://download.aopen.com.tw/userdownload_List.aspx?RecNo=3173&Model=MX36LE-UN
Install the 4-in-1 chipset driver first, reboot, then install the others. For the CD, right click it in the device manager and select uninstall before installing the chipset driver. When you reboot, it should be OK.

Let us know how it goes!!!

Well I got the audio and video fixed, I think, but the chipset wasn't for Win 2000 (I never mentioned my op. system tho) so I didn't install it.

Thanks for your help, it's really appreciated.
