I wasn't really sure where to post this so I figured this would be a good start. I currently have a 5-Disc CD changer hooked to an old stereo system in my shed which is attached to 4 Rock Speakers that we use for music around the pool patio. I have to burn CD's to use outside and was wondering, is there a way to hook my CPU up as the music provider as opposed to the CD/Stereo system I have now? I figure the signal from the CPU will have to be amplified somewhat. Any Ideas??

Do you have the yellow/red/white inputs and outputs on the stereo....If so, you can do it.

I do...that's how I have the CD changer hooked up. But how do I hook the CPU up to the amplifier. I have no stereo type outputs on the back of my CPU. Do I need a new sound card that has the stereo outputs?

I have a Home Theater hooked up to my PC.
I found a cord, which has the same size male end as a set of speakers or headphones have and the other end has a pair of male RCA plugs.
I had mine on hand (never through out old patch cords) but you should fine something similar at your local Radio Shack.
It was simple as plugging to the PC speaker jack and connecting to the home theater AUX input jacks.

I think there may be a problem, if the distance is really far tho, seeing that the signal is very low strength, and travelling in a cable 50+ feet wont do you very good tho.

Hi there, i play my music from my computer to my stereo via a 3.5mm jack plug which splits into 2 castle connections 1 red and 1 white. The 3.5 jack into the back of the pc in the speakers out socket and the red and white (left and right) connectors to an auxiliary channel in the stereo. The stereo (midi system also amplifies the speakers). If you do not want to use your stereo then you would either need an amp or powered (amped) speakers. Hope that helps.
