If you had done all the "stuff recommended" in the link Read & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support and it did not resolve the problem, you need to continue following the instructions given in that link and post the logs requested.

    Hi walshyfz86!
    Welcome to Major Geeks!

What we recommend is simply a set of scans that cleans out some common things from your computer and then supplies us with a set of logs so we can see what's going on with your computer.

Your computer is not in normal startup mode, so we can't use your logs in the way we need to. Please go to Start / Run and type in msconfig. Check the box that says Normal Startup, click on accept and click on okay. Then go to C:\MGTools and look for the file called GetLogs.bat. Double click on it and allow it to run . When it's finished you'll get a message like, click on any key to close the window and produce the logs. The logs themselves are called MGlogs.zip and can be found directly under C just above the superman icon.
Please attach this new set of logs.
    Thanks.

    Hi walshyfz86,

The file you are trying to get rid of is in your temporary files. Since there's a file in there from January, it looks like you may not have run CCleaner or CCleaner did not delete your temporary files. Can you tell me which? If it's the former, please go ahead and run it now. The instructions for it are in the READ & RUN ME FIRST
If it's not running correctly and there are still files in your temp folders which are more than one day old, please tell me.

After you do that, please continue as follows:

    1) Go to add/remove programs and uninstall the below:

    Java(TM) 6 Update 2
    Java(TM) 6 Update 3
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6
    Viewpoint Media Player

    2) Reboot after uninstalling the above.

    3) Install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

    4) Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottime
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [postSetupCheck] C:\Windows\System32\Rundll32.exe "C:\Windows\system32\gzmrt.dll" DllStart
    O23 - Service: GameConsoleService - WildTangent, Inc. - C:\Program Files\HP Games\My HP Game Console\GameConsoleService.exe
    O23 - Service: Viewpoint Manager Service - Viewpoint Corporation - C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exe

After you click fix, just close hijackthis.

    5) Now run CCleaner again after you close your browsers.

    6) Please run C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat and attach the fresh MGlogs.zip

    Hi walshy,

CCleaner isn't deleting your temporary files. Let's see if you can delete them manually. This should be possible for all files except for those from the current day.

Go to C:\Windows\TEMP and delete the contents of this folder.
Then go to C:\Users\Jrod\AppData\Local\Temp and delete the contents of this folder.

    Next, please do the following:

Download Registry Search (see the link titled RegSearch Download Link )
    • Extract the files from Regsearch.zip into a folder.
    • Doubleclick regsearch.exe to start the program.
    • Enter aupd in the top area of the form and then click "Ok".
    • Notepad will be opened with text in it (the file named RegSearch.txt will be saved in the program's folder as well). Attach this file to your next reply.

    Hi walshy,
I want to see if that one file got deleted when you deleted your temp files. Please go to the MGTools folder in C:\ and find GetLogs.bat. Double-click on it to run it. When it's finished it will say something like hit any key to close the window and produce a log. The logs are MGlogs.zip and this can be found directly under C:\ just above the superman icon. Please attach those here.
    Thanks.

    Hi walshy,
I don't see any further malware. How is your computer doing? If things are running the way they should and you aren't seeing any other symptoms, you can go ahead with the final cleanup instructions in the box which will remove all the logs and tools we had you put on your computer and have you reset your restore points.

    Hi walshyfz86,
I'm glad to hear things are doing better. You'll get the best help on those other things in the hardware or software forums. Good luck to you!
