This worked a miracle for me; http://www.mypctuneup.com/ It is free and I used it last night to clear my computer out of all the annoying aurora and abetterinternet pop-ups, that I have been having for weeks. It had progreessed to the point where it was beyond just pop-ups, but my computer would shut down peridically without notice. I went directly to the abetterinternet.com and at the bottom of the page, was a link to uninstall all of their spyware. I figured that It couldn't get much worse than my computer already was, so I gave it a try. It was a miracle! For the first time in weeks my computer appeared to be clean. I ran microsoft anti-spyware, Ad-Aware, and several other programs, and the report came back clean on all of them.
Instead of doing the hyjackthis log and everything else, you might get this simple solution a try. It seems to have worked for me.

    gemee,

This is old news, we have been using this for a while now. Usually this baddie comes with some other things so if you like you can attach a HJT log to confirm your clean.

And also more importantly, that link does not always resolve the problem for all cases as we have seen in many threads.

Please attach ALL logs as attachments to your post!

Please EXTRACT HijackThis from the ZIP File to a Safer location. Here's how:

    To create a new folder:
Click START > My Computer > Local Disc C: > Program Files
Now, Right Click on an Empty Area and select New > Folder & name it HijackThis and ENTER

    To Extract HijackThis:
Now, Right Click your HijackThis ZIP File and select Extract All > Next > and browse to your newly created HijackThis Folder
    (C:\Program Files\HJT) and click Next.

Now run HJT from there. Please save your HJT Log as a .txt File and attach it via the "Manage Attachments" tool in the Additional Options section when you post.

The reason HJT needs its own safe folder is so that backups will be safely preserved. That way, if a mistake is made in the removal process, the mistakenly deleted entry can be restored.
