    Hi all,

I have just started having probs with my computer.

When in IE, a number of the words are coloured and underlined and have been turned into links to advertising pages. Also, periodically, a programme pops up called Aurora, it only stays around for about half a second and then disappears again.

Is there anyway I can get rid of this??

I have run hijack this and the logfile is:

Edit by chaslang: Unrequested inline log removed

Would be really grateful if anyone could help out.

    Many thanks,

    Matt

Please follow forum guidelines! Read the sticky threads. Do not post HJT logs unless requested and please do not post them inline. Here are the steps you need to follow.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus RemovalMake sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

Really sorry about that - am a newbie to the forum so wasn't too sure on the rules.

Will read and follow the other instructions.

    Once again, I'm really sorry,

    Matt

No problem Matt! Just work thru the steps and if having a problem after running all the cleanup procedures, follow the directions to post a HijackThis log and post it as an attachment.
