auto connect internet at startup

I set up my bosses new computer today and everything went well except one thing. Seems to get on line I have to click a shortcut to network propertys, then click ie shortcut.
i could understand if he was on dialup, but its highspeed. I have had the same connection in the past, and cable now, and internet connection is always just on, none of this click here and here stuff. did i miss something? i'm sure i must have, anyways, im hoping to go there tomorrow with a fix....any ideas?

You have to go into your modem's software configuration and set it to be always on if that's what you want.

Read the modem's manual for info.

 

i read it over a few times, looking for just that, and went on line to faq, and nothing was said. Also it is supposed to be on always by what i have read off thesite and FAQ's . Also i installed off their disk. Such a silly little thing...i'll try what you said, ty

It should be a URL you add in your browser's address bar which loads the software.

For example, for my D Link 302 G it's http://10.1.1.2/hag/pages/home.ssi.

 

I've attached a screenshot as an example.

 

ah... sort of like a router? didnt think of that....even a little. Hopefully i can get somewhere now.
