Auto device on high definition audio bus

    I have no sound I have checked inside of my computer and I have no sound card so I imaging it must have on board sound , I went into bios to look to enable the sound but could not see any thing relating to this ,next went into device manager .yellow exclaimation mark stating "Audio device on high definition audio bus" can any one explain this to me and how to fix it .I am using XP
    Also no spare slots for a sound card :wave
