Autocheck not found?

When i start my Windows XP (home edition) everything is normal but right before the user accounts screen appears a different blue screen appears with the messege: "Systemroot/system/autochk.exe not found; Windows will skip autocheck"

i was disturbed by what this could mean so if anybody knows the source of this problem i'd appreciate it if anyone could inform me on what it is, and how to get rid of the message or solve the problem.

Try opening regedit (from Start > Run) and navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager

There should be a multi-string value called BootExecute, make sure it has the exact value: autocheck autochk *

If there isn't a string called BootExecute, create one and give it that value.

i created the BootExecute multi-string value and made its value: autocheck autochk* but when i restart my computer a new message shows saying: autochk* program not found, windows will skip autocheck

Did i do something wrong?

Never mind! i saw that i hadn't put a space between the * and autochk and after fixing it problems solved!
