I have a programme that when i run it the disc needs to be in the dvd tray.
This is not a problem for me but what is a problem is the disc wants to start the instal procedure each time i put it in the tray.
I need some help if i may trying to stop the dvd tray from autoloading, basically when i pop the disc in and shut the door nothing happens.
I have been in the registry and changed the autorun from 1 to zero & also disabled the autorun option within the properties on the dvd tray unit but both have no luck as the setup stil runs through its procedure.

    Please advise many thanks.

What you did works for XP Home but not Pro.
I found these directions for Pro
The other way to do it is to install TweakUI

You can also turn off Auto-run by holding down the left "Shift" key when you insert the disk.
